Many elderly people need help staying at home, but they also need help in other areas of their lives. This is why each Stay at Home agency assembles a Total Family Care Team made up of trusted providers of companion care, medical care, facility care, legal planning, financial planning, mortuary planning, home maintenance, and medical equipment.
Many of our Stay at Home clients are recovering from serious illnesses or injury. As such, they often need specialized in-home care from medical professionals.
We do not provide medical services, but as your companion care professionals we are often in a unique position to identify the need or to help you get ready for medical visits. These visits may include nursing care or physical therapy; they may also include visits from hospice staff.
When we talk to the family of a client (or a potential client), we focus on four fundamental questions:
- Does your loved one have specific medical needs?
- Is the need short-term or long-term?
- Where does the treatment need to be performed?
- Do you know where to turn for services?
If your loved one is just coming out of a hospital stay, the hospital may have already identified a provider, but if you don’t know where the service will coming from, we should be able to help. People who need in-home medical care typically also need companion care.
It’s our job to have relationships with home care providers who we trust; when the time comes that you or a loved one needs help, we know where to turn.
