Frequently Asked Questions

Who needs Stay at Home’s™ care?
Senior citizens, people recovering from illness or hospitalization and those who want and can stay in their home but who need some help with daily living.

What services do you offer?
We customize a plan of service around the needs of each client. We offer companionship, transportation, therapy reminders, personal hygiene reminders, medication reminders, help with household tasks, meal preparation, and other non-medical services.

How much does it cost?
Because our services are designed to meet your individual needs, it is impossible to have a menu of prices. We will always will be competitive and our quality unsurpassed. A Stay at Home™ representative will come to your home and give you a no cost, no obligation needs assessment and the cost of each service you requested.

Will my insurance pay?
While Medicare does not pay for companion care services, some long-term care insurance policies may pay for services. Workman’s Compensation and automobile insurance policies may also reimburse for some in-home companion care services. We will assist you in finding out if your insurance can help.

Are you licensed by the state or county?
Yes, we are licensed to provide companion care by the governing authority in each state where we have franchise locations. Each Stay at Home™ franchise is independently owned and operated. Since licensing requirements may vary by state, not all locations offer personal care services.

How do I know I will have a qualified person coming into my home?
Our caregivers go through extensive interviews, criminal background checks and other screenings before they are even considered for our team. They also must demonstrate uncompromising compassion and dependability; they must have a genuine passion for helping people.

Will I have the same person every time?
You will have a primary caregiver because Stay at Home™ believes that establishing a close relationship with each client is very important. We place a high priority on matching you with someone that will be compatible with you. Of course, our caregivers will have days off, vacations and other tasks that require time off. If you need someone in your home for several hours a day or week, you will have more than one Stay at Home™ companion.

If I need someone at night or weekends, will they be available?
We're always available. Seven days a week, 24 hours a day.

Can you help me with insulin shots or other medical treatments?
Stay at Home™ personnel do not perform any medical services. We can remind you when to take medicines and when to perform therapy, but we do not provide "hands-on" treatment or assistance.
